What other strategies does Mr. Brusso recommend for your marketing; which tie into podcasting?
The outside of the CD ROM carries all your contact information, just like a regular business-card, but the CD ROM carries so much more information inside! When the holder puts the CD ROM into their computer (PC), it boots up automatically and plays a 3 minute introduction video, usually shot from one of your podcasts. Once this is finished playing, there are clickable sections the viewer can explore! People buy for emotion backed up with logic. The CD ROMs are constructed with this buying logic in mind. The video is the emotional part of the buy, and the clickable sections are the logic part. Some of the CDs are constructed with menu’s like this one below, which is an interior shot of the menu system. When the menu starts up, a voice-over tells the viewers what they are looking at and what the choices are that they have in the selection menu.
Now, what is a business card supposed to do? Ever really think about that? One thing it must do is deliver your contact information to the recipient. The most important thing is it is supposed to deliver is an impact; something for the holder to remember about you or your business. Coupled with my Internet and podcasting strategies you should use my brand of business card: a business card size CD ROM!

Michael’s video on this CD ROM is about 10 minutes long and contains an incredible discussion on branding principles, as that is what he does! But it’s extremely compelling to watch his video as he describes the principles of branding. As a matter of fact, you can watch this video at http://www.infocard.cc/MichaelHoffmanSample.html. One more fact about this CD is that Michael has only one piece of marketing material: that is this CD. That’s a powerful statement coming from a Marketing person such as Michael. What does he see in it? Well, he can explain and present his company, the benefits of working with his company, all in one form of media. Now he isn’t the only one either. Let’s look the next example of a person who uses the CD ROM to show case her artistry: Enter Laurie Barton:
Shown on the left is the menu system for David J. Wurmlinger’s resume. As he works in Hollywood, many of the potential recipients might not be that “web” savvy, so we put a talking menu on his CD ROM, just in case.
All of the business-card size CD ROMs have clickable sections that hold various types of data. Words, lists, pictures, and other clickable sections can be constructed to showcase your company. Here is a picture of the clickable sections in another business size CD ROM.
So back to the main reason for a business card; that is to create an impression. What do you think? You think this does that? Well, the first time you pass one of the CD ROM business cards out, stand back and watch all the “wows”. This CD ROM creates a big stir when you pass it out. Now, you think they are going to remember you? You think they will put this into their computer at the first time they get a chance? You bet they will and do! Let me tell you quick story. I had a friend who was also the VP of a credit union. I worked with him for years trying to get him to see the value in these CD ROM business cards, with no luck at all. He ended up leaving the Credit Union and came to work with me. I produced for him an Infocard business CD for his use. The first networking function we happened to be at, he gave his CD ROM out to a woman, who loved it so much, she called for a friend to come look at it! She gave it to her friend and came back to ask for more. Let me ask you, have you had anyone do that with current business card? I doubt it.
So, do you think he was remembered by this woman? You bet he was. Rising above the noise isn’t an accident, you have to have the tools plus strategy to do so. Now, if that wasn’t good enough, contained inside the CD ROMs are clickable links to your website, blog, podcasts, and email as shown in the next picture.
These CD ROMs can also be put right into the normal computer CD ROM or DVD ROM tray. I get many questions about “do you need to have a special computer to see the CD ROMs?” The answer is no. Many people don’t understand that the current computer CD ROM or DVD ROM trays have a recessed area in them so that they can handle business size CD ROMs or even “mini round CD ROMs”. The picture below shows you how they fit right into current equipment.
One of the final great uses of these CD ROMs is that they can be integrated with traditional media. You can “fugitively glue” the CD ROMs onto brochures or other marketing materials; as shown above.
One of the least understood benefits from these CD ROMs are that they can brand you! Take, for example, the next CD ROM of Michael Hoffman, is there any doubt what he looks like? Is there any doubt that this CD ROM attracts attention and brands Mr. Hoffman?
Laurie is a fantastic artist who casts her work in bronze and she showcases her work inside her CD ROM. It’s like having your own “infomercial” right in the palm of your hands. More important is the fact that you can give this to prospective clients, and let it do its magic!
These business-card size CD ROM’s are very important to consider adding to your marketing mix. They can promote your company, your services, and your new media 2.0 strategies. Without question they provide substantial impact in your “Rise above the noise” strategy!
The business size CD’s fit right in the drawer for CD ROMs.
An entire catalog of work can fit into one of these CD ROMs. It’s like having your own infomercial in the palm of your hands!
These CD ROM’s can brand you or your company!
The CD’s can be “fugitively glued” on your existing brochures or hand bills.
