Is there a way to use my podcasts rather than let someone just find them?
Remember not to make your podcast an advertisement but jam-packed with good value for the end user. You can, in a week, do a follow-up email to see how they liked it, and to ask for suggestions for another “episode”. This brings them right into the show with you! You can even ask them to become a guest on your show if you think it would help them to use your services or products. The days of cold calling are over. This is a great way to develop business relationships.
As I said, long gone are the days of cold calling, door knocking, and other types of advertising-oriented marketing activities. What is the new thing these days? Well, it’s an old thing! We are going back to the way we did business 100 years ago; that is, by doing business with those we know and trust. What is new is how we get to know people and gain their trust. Today, we use the tools of podcasting, social networks, and the resources of the new social media known as web 2.0.
Yes! One of the best ways to use your podcasts is to email potential or even current clients a link and invite them to listen. This is especially valuable if the topic matter you are discussing has a particular “value” to the email recipient. This is a fantastic use of a very powerful media. As a matter of fact, make sure to read the “Success Story 2” with Tom Webb, as he did precisely this with fantastic results.
In addition to emailing the link, you can take the time to discuss how the show is relevant to their company or needs. This makes for a very powerful way to market yourself and your services. Another concept is to design your podcasts with potential clients in mind. This allows you to “target” in on the things you think are important to the potential email recipient.
Podcasting is the exact tool to use in reaching prospective clients, to build that relationship with them, and to gain their trust. As mentioned above, you become a recognized subject matter expert. There are few tools that can tout the innate abilities of a podcast to perform these critical tasks. This is why podcasting can play such an important role in developing business. It takes a “Kings” position in your marketing mix by delivering your message to potential clients and gaining that “trusted advisor” position. Thus, when it becomes time to hire or buy, you are top of mind awareness with your listener! Bottom line...email links to your podcasts to prospective clients, and existing clients: add value in their lives and they will do business with you!
Clients love to get links to podcasts that contain value information for them to use!
Email links to your podcasts directly to your clients or potential clients.
