Sample 1: A pure audio podcast “Obesity in the Workplace”
Description. A recent article appearing in the Los Angeles Times addressed how some employers, nationwide, are attempting to contain the sky-rocketing costs of providing health insurance benefits by penalizing employees who do not meet certain arbitrary health standards. Some employers referenced in the article go so far as forcing employees to pay money to the employer if they weigh a certain amount, or if their cholesterol or blood pressure levels are not optimal. In this Helpcast, Host Helene Wasserman of Ford & Harrison LLP uses this article as a springboard to discuss how employers can (and cannot) legally address health concerns in the workplace. Obviously, a healthy workforce is a more productive workforce. And, while some incentives provided for some reasons are lawful, others are not. Addressed in this Helpcast are the recent HIPAA regulations regarding wellness plans that can provide appropriate insurance cost-containment measures for employers seeking to lower costs while proactively improving the health and welfare of their employees.
Sample 2: Episode 19: Enhancing Workplace Communications in the 21st Century: The Medium is the Massage
In his 1967 tome “The Medium is the Massage,” Marshall McLuhan hypothesized that the form of a message, whether it was print, visual, etc., would determine the way in which that message would be perceived. Back then; he asserted that modern communication would have far-reaching consequences, to the point of actually altering the ways in which we perceive the world. His prediction could not have been more accurate. It used to be that paper memos and paper documents was considered the best way to communicate. In this “greener” and more technologically savvy generation, companies are looking to more effective and more efficient means of communicating their “message” to their employees. Many are turning to 21st Century technology to assist in this process. Much of this 21st Century technology did not even exist in McLuhan’s era. In this third part of our series, Host Helene Wasserman will be interviewing new age technology guru Peter Brusso about how employers can best utilize new age technology to enhance communications with their employees and to communicate their “massage.”
Sample 3: Episode 16: Corporate Culture: What is Yours and Does it need to Change?
While most business executives have heard the term "corporate culture", many have no idea what it really is, or how to change it. Think of a business as a car. The culture is the engine, what keeps the car running smoothly, or what causes those "pings" that can be disastrous. In this HelpCast, Host Helene Wasserman of Ford & Harrison LLP explores the notion of corporate culture and culture transition with expert Tom Webb, VP of F&H Solutions Group. Does your company need a culture change? Listen to this HelpCast and find out.
Sample 4: Business Alliance Presentation given at the City Club on Bunker Hill Feb 2007
This is a really good presentation I gave to the business alliance group at the City Club on Bunker Hill. It covers the use of iPods for your business, how to use blogs to increase traffic to your site and to increase your business, how to use forums and talks about viral marketing. Its a must see primer for web 2.0.
Sample 5: The importance of Podcasting
This is a "solo" program video podcast. Mr. Brusso explains, in simple language what podcasts really are and why they are important for your business. He also discusses services where you can put your podcasts and some of the other secrets of the industry. Finally, he discusses how to use podcasts to upsell your business to your clients.
