Legal podcasters gain the benefits of recognition, fame (podcasters are like rock stars these days), brand recognition and become subject matter experts in their area of specialty. Podcasting is today’s way of distinguishing yourself from the competition. Podcasting can be integrated into existing marketing plans, and can have a significant impact on a law firm’s bottom line. The more you podcast, the more you will build a listenership, and the easier it is to create a reputation as a leader in your industry. As that happens, you will develop clients, other opportunities will come your way, and you will begin to harness the power of the new web 2.0.
“Podcasting for Lawyers” came about as a way to help lawyers in marketing themselves and their firms. Using a new strategy known as the “Trinity” has allowed attorneys to “blast” their business forward; gaining new clients and becoming a “legend”. Attorneys develop business through various means: referrals from other attorneys, advertising, client referrals, and now, by using Podcasting coupled with the Trinity!
Most attorneys will agree that clients hire attorneys, not law firms. Developing client's means developing relationships with potential clients. Podcasting is a “bleeding edge” tool to gain the ear of potential clients and other referral attorneys! People listen to or view Podcasts, and the beginning of a relationship is developed. If you have not heard a sample of legal podcasting, then go over to our "samples" section and listen to Helene Wasserman's "EmployerHelpCast."
Lawyers need to develop their business; podcasting is an excellent way to do this!
Web 2.0 is all about niche marketing and using the power of something called an RSS feed. Sounds complicated, but it is not. In the past, people who recorded podcasts would need to create reasons for people to keep coming back to their site. That was the only way people would see and hear whatever new content was posted. Those days are gone. Now, the challenge is to get viewers to subscribe to a podcast RSS feed. We take the lead and post podcasts in places where people can easily find and subscribe to our clients’ RSS feeds. It is that simple. That way, each new episode that is recorded and produced gets pushed right to the viewer, automatically! Web 2.0… today’s technology!

Podcasts can be used to gain more work from existing clients, and also to develop new clients. How do you get new clients? Two ways. First, you can do some research and send an invitation to a potential client to “listen” to a particular episode of your podcast show. In doing so, you begin a relationship with the “potential” new client.
Once you cultivate this invitation with further email discussions on the topic, you can use this as a vehicle to develop a client relationship. Second, you can invite potential clients onto your show! In doing so, you develop a relationship with them, and that is how you start doing business with them. Visit the “Podcast U” section of this website to learn other ways of establishing new business and increasing current business.
Your podcast episodes are displayed on blip.tv or your own site.
